Ril'Meyn, The Shield - General
A defensive constellation, focusing on protection spells.
The Shield is a constellation of valor and protection, hindering your enemies' attacks as much as possible.
Manifestation[edit]
When an Ascendant is manifesting The Shield, a faint outline of armor surrounds them, glowing a faint silver, and their skin takes on a grey hue. On their brow rests a glowing constellation, showing the placement of the stars and a glowing outline of a shield.

Passive Ability[edit]
While using The Shield, you gain the constant effect of your Void Ward ability, refreshing at the end of the duration. If the Ward is destroyed, it doesn't refresh until the duration is up, unless you use the Ward on yourself again before then.
Sidereal Blast[edit]
The Shield changes the shape of your Sidereal Blast - Rather than firing a ray, you place the Blast on a target of your choice in the form of a shield of energy. Multiple applications to the same target do not stack. Until the beginning of your next turn, any creature that strikes the target with a non-reach melee weapon is subjected to the effects of your Sidereal Blast each time they attack.
Void Ward[edit]
While under the effects of The Shield, your Void Ward grants the target a Shield bonus to AC equal to half the Deflection value it normally grants. In addition, your Charisma modifier is doubled for the purposes of determining the Ward's hit points.
Astral Mark[edit]
While using The Shield, your Astral Mark grants the target Spell Resistance equal to your class level + your Charisma modifier, as well as a Shield that grants a Deflection bonus to AC equal to half the AC bonus of your Void Ward, with hit points equal to your class level + your Charisma modifier. The target also casts Abjuration spells and abilities at +1 caster level.
