Ray of Dark Sacrifice
Necromancy [Evil]
Level: Cleric 4, Sorcerer/Wizard 4
Components: V, S, F
Casting time: 1 standard action
Range: 100 ft
Effect: Ray
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: Yes

The cult leader jammed a dagger into his second in command. As he drew the blade out, black energy erupted from the bloody wound and arced like lightning to smite their foes.

As part of this spell you make a single attack against your ally (who may be willing and thus may allow themselves to be hit). Instead of normal damage, you can choose to deal up to 1d6 points of damage per caster level to your ally. As a free action you may then convert their life energy into a destructive ray which you can fire as a ranged touch attack anywhere in range. Opponents struck with this new ray take 2d6 divine damage for every 5 points of damage you drained from your ally (up to their max hp + 10). This damage can kill your ally, and if it does add your ally's HD as a bonus to the damage.

For example, a caster uses this on an ally with 35 hp, and ends up dealing 50 damage, killing his ally. It only counts 45 of the damage for the subsequent ray, or 18d6.

Focus: A weapon (typically a dagger) which you attack your ally with.
