Radioactive Gem[edit]
This is a large, glowing gem, approximately eight inches long. The glow is sufficiently bright to dimly illuminate a 5-foot radius around itself. Unfortunately, it is also quite radioactive. Every hour of close exposure (5 feet) to the gem causes 1 point of Radiation damage per 10 gp in its value. Plant matter can ignore up to 2 points of damage per hour, fired clay can ignore up to 5 points of damage per hour, and extradimensional spaces can ignore up to caster level squared points of damage per hour.
Despite being insanely dangerous to be near, Radioactive Gems are a popular currency, easily surpassing gold due to their more portable nature.
Radioactive Gems are frequently found in Tall Grass.
