Watch me cut this knife with 1000 degree ice.
When this spell is cast, up to 5 cubic feet of a uniform material (such as water, or "rock", or wood) is rendered "phase locked". No matter the change of pressure or temperature, the material will not transition between solid, liquid, gas, plasma, or other states. You can have extremely hot ice, or freezing plasma, or other unusual states. The material may still be destroyed, combusted, or altered via chemical means, but neither pressure or temperature will result in its destruction. Reducing the material to atomic components (such as via disintegrate) or having it disperse to effectively be atomize also ends the spell.
The spell can be rendered permanent with an additional material component.
Material Component: Fragment of a demon preserved in quintessence. For the permanent version apply an additional 2000 gp in polished iron bearings.
