Osteon Dread Necromancer Substitution Levels[edit]

Race: Osteon

Osteons are really comfortable working with bodies, so much that dread necromancers leave the more occult aspects of the craft behind to delve into scientific method and preferring corporeal undead over ethereal ones.

Table: The Osteon Bonemancer

Hit Die: d6

Level Base
Attack Bonus
Saving Throws Special Spellcasting
Fort Ref Will
1st +0 +0 +0 +2 Anatomical Studies, Charnel Touch, Rebuke Undead Same as dread necromancer
3rd +1 +1 +1 +3 Graft Flesh Same as dread necromancer
5th +2 +1 +1 +4 Undead Mastery[1] Same as dread necromancer
6th +3 +2 +2 +5 Semicalcifying Touch Same as dread necromancer
19th +9/+4 +6 +6 +11 Calcifying Touch Same as dread necromancer

Anatomical Studies: An osteon bonemancer uses Intelligence instead of Charisma for all of its class features, including spellcasting. It uses Intelligence instead of Wisdom for Heal checks.

Graft Flesh: At 3rd level a bonemancer gains Graft Flesh instead of Craft Wondrous Item, but only for corporeal and organic grafts. The feat also allows it to create flesh golems and other organic constructs as if it met any feat requirement and to use scrolls or other similar magic items to imitate any spells it lacks. This also applies to grafts. It treats all organic constructs as undead for all purposes. Adding a graft to an undead or itself halves the costs for grafting.

Semicalcifying Touch (Ex): At 6th level a bonemancer does not gain the Pseudo-Paralyzing Touch but instead a touch that works the same except that it slows and the target takes a -4 to its Strength score, both for one round. This only works on corporeal creatures with calcium in themselves (usually by having a bone structure). DC to resist is is 10 + 1/2 Class Level + Intelligence bonus.

Calcifying Touch (Ex): At 19th level a bonemancer does not gain the Paralyzing Touch but instead a touch that works the same except that it reproduces the effects of a flesh to stone spell, but the target solidifies into pure calcium instead (bones for a creature with a bone structure). This is the upgrade to Semicalcifying Touch. DC to resist is is 10 + 1/2 Class Level + Intelligence bonus.
