Opibiotic Cream[edit]
Opibiotic cream is an edible creamy substance superficially resembling ice cream. It is a concentrated serum of high calorie fats, antifreeze protiens, hibernation induction triggers, and depressive drugs encased in lipid shells which when ingested causes the eater to fall into a state of hibernation within 1d4 hours. The food is digested slowly once hibernation begins, and provided the external tempatures are kept low and breathing continues unobstructed, the eater could survive for many months in sub-zero environments without freezing or starving. Space fairing creatures (particularly the uberich) use this material for long-duration trips, and employ machines to provide a constant flow of opibiotic serum straight into the bloodstream to remain in hibernation indefinately.
Opibiotic cream isn't a typical meal, but it is usually flavored for the sake of edibility. Opibiotic cream goes for about 750g per serving, which for the average stomach causes a hibernation of 3d4 months.
