Said to be a gift from rare warlocks who made contacts with creatures of law and good instead of evil and chaos, though positive energy is not always the domain of the goodly. Your eldritch blast becomes positive energy, which heals damage instead of harms to most creatures. Against undead creatures, they take double the damage you would normally heal. The energy comes from your own life force, and you take half your eldritch blast damage as damage to yourself, bypassing regeneration as lethal damage and any damage reduction or resistances. You cannot heal yourself with your own oblative surge.
If you perish by using oblative surge, your body is infused with positive energy which makes you easier to revive. It only costs half the normal costs to revive you from dying this way.
