Monocular[edit]
This is a tube with lenses in it, and dials along the outside for adjusting focus. The awkwardness of its use grants you a -6 to Spot when using it, but the magnification reduces all penalties to spot for distance by a factor of 2.
If you use two monoculars pointing in the same direction, the penalty to spot decreases to -2, but you are denied your dexterity bonus to AC while doing so.
If you use two monoculars pointing in different directions, you can no longer be flanked, but the penalty to spot increases to -15.
Lifting one or more monoculars to your face is a move action, and removing them again is a swift action if you're holding them up, or a move action if they're attached to your face via straps of some sort.
