Mind-Flayed[edit]
A creature used by mind flayers as lures to attract more food.
Mind-Flayers sometimes find it useful to make thralls that are able to gather other meals for them. These unfortunates have been changed in order to better assist their new tentacled masters.
Creating a Mind-Flayed[edit]
Mind-Flayed is an aquired template that can be applied to any living creature with an Int, Wis, and Cha 8 or higher.
Special Attacks[edit]
Psi-like Ability: 1/day - Compelling Voice (max augment up to three targets)
A Mind-Flayed creature uses its highest mental stat for saves (chosen upon gaining the template). In case of a tie, it defaults to Int.
Special Qualities[edit]
Flayed Mind: A Mind-Flayed creature's mind has been effectively destroyed and reshaped. A Mind-Flayed creature always succeeds on Will saves that a Mindless creature would be immune to. Against the creatures that applied this template to them, they instead fail all Will saves.
Shaped to a Purpose (Ex): A Mind-Flayed creature can be granted new skills in order to serve their new purpose. Treat them as having max ranks in up to three additional skills, which always count as class skills for them. Their master may - if it deigns to - aid them with a skill check at will if able to communicate with the Mind-Flayed telepathically.
Telepathic Beacon (Su): A Mind-Flayed creature is easy to communicate with telepathically. Any creature is able to communicate with a Mind-Flayed creature at 10x the normal range, and multiple Mind-Flayed creatures act as if the starting point for the telepathy of any creature which would be able to communicate with them. However, their thoughts are quite loud, and whenever they are communicating with someone telepathically, their thoughts can be heard by any other creature with telepathy that could communicate with them.
