The logos natura are the pantheon of nature spirits who control the world of Maya. They are worshiped by druids and clerics with a nature bent, and often revered as local spirits. Unlike the logos belius and logos malius, they are many and weak, little more than unusually advanced or intelligent animals and monsters. However, there are eight which stand above all.

The pantheon of the logos natura are better known as Maya's nature spirits, and they are many. Unlike the other gods who were few and number and powerful, logos natura are found everywhere. In fact, many are little more than extraordinary powerful beasts, such as behemoth eagles or devestation vermin. However, eight among them stand out above all. Unique among themselves, when a nature spirit dies it does not perish for good. They will inevitably be reborn among another at some point, and so the title of these gods and their immortality have spread from beast to beast since creation formed.

The logos natura have a bit of a clash with logos belius and malius alike as their history, while oft forgotten, is troubled. Logos natura does not go out of its way to rule or be worshiped, but it recognized worshipers as vital to protect the natural world from unkempt civilization and the complexities of the modern world.

Unlike the "normal" D&D deity, the logos natura deities can be seen wandering the material plane (if in rare and exotic places), and they can often be challenged and killed. Woe be any who does though, for they bring the wrath of all nature upon them until the divine spirit is reborn. Supernatural and templated versions of their animal form often appear near the hidden groves of the gods, the only warning for tresspassers to stay away.

History[edit]

In the beginning, the world was dark water, without sun or wind, and endless mist. In this ancient land the flow of time was distorted and confused. In its confusion was born a need for balance, and so the first mind, Hiranyagarbha, appeared and began to sort through the miasma. From its studies light was separated from shadow, the heavens split from water, and earth soon followed to fill the space between. Duality and disparity were created, and the world was formed, ending the Age of Mist. Satisfied, Hiranyagarbha desired to keep understanding the world that was before him. It breathed life onto the waters. From it life sprung, and from formless shapes came complex forms, from tiny mouse to mighty dragon.

The dragons rose within the natural order and soon dominated all others, and there was balance. The spirits of nature saw them and worried not for the fate of the world, for it knew that all things were ever-changing. Born from chaos, the world still moved until the skin of calm that had been created and one day the dragons would make way for some new terrifying beast. However, the first mind saw fit to meddle and made war on the dragons. The dragons fell, and the gods took their place. With knowledge from the outside, the gods began to shape nature to see as they saw fit. They moved without care and respect, trampling the forests and salting the earth until no threat remained for their chosen people. Removed from nature, the intelligent races became soft and weak. They lost their claws and fur, and their instinct, and relied on the gods. But the spirits of nature could see the true nature of the world, for they knew all things were ever-changing. One day the gods would make way for some new terrifying beast, but the intelligent races under their wing would be taken with them. They had been duped into relaxing in a world which was, under its skin, chaos.

And so the nature spirits took their strongest, and granted their energies onto a few powerful creatures. Their purpose would be two-fold. They would protect nature from the gods and man, to ensure that the natural course was followed and balance was maintained. And second, they would remind man to remember their inner feral beast. For one day, the gods will fall and man must remember to earn his right to be the next terrifying beast of the age.

The logos natura will protect the planet, and remind mortalkind to respect their ancestors.

Deities of the Pantheon[edit]

These are the deities of logos natura, gods of Maya, as well as the five Devastation Dragon Gods who are technically powerful nature spirits unto themselves.
