The smallest, cutest grim reaper ever, with an itty bitty bone scythe in hand.
The smallest and weakest of shinigamis, little more than pale reflections of actual grim reapers. They appear sometimes from necromancers who perish, but who worked to either sow death or bring the undead to death. Their boney bodies are only the torso and upper half of a creature, with a mute animal skull for a head, a scythe made of bone, and ethereal shadowy robes cloaking everything but the arms and skull. They never speak, but wander battlefields quietly ensuring that any dying or wounded creatures pass on.
Combat[edit]
Little reapers can only really pick on the dying, as they are not great combatants. However, they are rarely afraid of harm as their undying natures will bring them back soon enough.
Call Scythe (Su): Little reapers carry tiny scythes made of bone from their bodies. While they can drop or lose them, they can call another one as a standard action into their hands (previous scythes crumbling into dust and ectoplasm).
Kill the Dying (Sp): As a standard action the little reaper can touch a dying creature and reduce its hp to -10, usually killing the creature. When it does this, it gains the creature's HD as temporary hp for 8 hours. Temporary hp overlaps, it does not stack. They also gain this benefit if they manage to kill a creature, usually via coup de grace.
Undying (Su): If a little reaper is destroyed, it leaves behind a small cold blue ember. So long as the ember is not exposed to 1 point of positive energy damage, holy water, or any anti-undead damage or damage which affects the ethereal plane (such as force damage), it will continue to smolder and the reaper will respawn at full hp within 24 hours. The ember is immune to other forms of damage.
Familiar[edit]
Little reapers may be used as familiars, in which case it has the alignment of its owner. As a familiar, they can transfer the temporary hp benefit of Kill the Dying to their master as long as they are within 60 ft.
