Iron Linen[edit]

This tough fabric is a product of modified flax, which has been hardened through magic. While it stays flexible and keeps many of the best qualities of linen, it also provides ample protection when made into armor or clothing. Any items made of iron linen has its weight increased by 50%.

Only armor made of fabric can be made of iron linen, such as padded armor. An armor made of iron linen has its Armor Bonus to AC increased by 1 and grants DR 1/Bludgeoning to the wearer, however its max dexterity decreases by 1 and its armor check penalty increases by 2. If clothing is made of iron linen, it grants a +1 armor bonus to AC despite not being armor. While wearing clothing or armor made of iron linen, the wearer gains a +2 bonus on save against warm temperatures and weather.

It is possible to make a Sap, Whip or other flexible fabric weapon out of iron linen. These weapons behave as normal for their kind, except that they benefit from the material's greater hit point and hardness.

Iron has 12 hit points per inch of thickness and hardness 9.

Type of Iron Linen Item Item Cost Modifier
Armor +1,000 gp
Clothing +750 gp
Weapon +400 gp
