A idol priest use a false deity created by herself to draw more divine power. 6 Divine Spellcasting Full

Idol Priest[edit]

Bow down before the brass bull! May the heat of HIS fiery breath bring you power in dark nights!
—Makhun, Idol priestess of the Brass Bull

Idol priests are powerful clerics who do not bow before real deities, much like ur-priests. However unlike ur-priests instead of outright stealing power from the Gods they instead make their very own deity, which they are the sole real worshiper, thus getting a great amount of divine power. Idol priests draw more and more power from their idol, eventually to the point they themselves become immortal and even partly divine.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the idol priest.

Spellcasting: At each level, you gain new spells per day and an increase in caster level (and spells known, if applicable) as if you had also gained a level in a spellcasting class to which you belonged before adding the prestige class level. You do not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained. If you had more than one divine spellcasting class before becoming a idol priest, you must decide to which class to add each level for the purpose of determining spells per day, caster level, and spells known.

Idol Catalyst: An idol priest draw divine magic from a false deity created by herself, she now require an idol catalyst (unholy symbol) to cast her spells, however since she is the sole 'believer' in this deity her powers are increase. The idol priest is able to cast one additional divine spell or each spell level she can cast and the DCs of her divine spell increase by 1.

Image of the Idol: As part of entering this class the idol priest is to build a statue of her idol, doing so she become divinely connected to that idol as it become the source of her divine powers. The image of the idol generate an unhallow field that extend by 100 feet per caster level and it may have any number of spell 'attached' to it. The idol priest may have one image of the idol per class level (she may replace damaged or destroyed one), building a new image of the idol cost 5000 gp in rare components and 24 hours of work.

As a downside if all of her image of the idol are destroyed she lose her divine spellcasting and supernatural class features until she she rebuild at least one.

Bonus Domain: At 2nd, 6th and 10th level the idol priest receive a bonus domain of her choice (even if does not match her alignment or philosophy). If she didn't had domain beforehand she receive the ability as a cleric (gaining domain slots as well).

Dark Servants (Su): A 3rd level idol priest gain the ability to cast summon monster III as a spell-like ability except the duration is 24 hours. At 5th level she may use summon monster IV instead, at 7th it is again upgraded to summon monster V and finally at 9th it become summon monster VI. This ability may be used once per day for each image of the idol you have.

Cultists: At 4th level the idol priest has gathered strong cult around her idol, forming a cult take 24 hours and a DC 20 diplomacy check, it must be done in a settlement with at least 100 creatures living there. Once a cult if formed she gain followers as per leadership but no cohort. All her followers have levels in the adept class.

She may have one cult per image of the idol she has, her cults are often used to protect and maintain each images.

Quasi-Divinity (Ex): As long as a 5th level idol priest has at least one image of the idol standing, she do not age nor need to eat, sleep or drink and become immune to mundane diseases and poisons.

Inhabit Idol (Su): A 5th level idol priest is capable of animating her image of the idol and control them remotely. As a full-round action she can project her mind into an image of the idol within 100 feet of her, the image animate and follow the will of the idol priest. The idol count as a half-fiend huge animated object (some idol priest may want to use different template of similar power to represent their idol like half-dragon or even half-celestial).

While controlling the image the idol priest is unable to take action but is not helpless, although if she is slain the image return to it previous state and cease animating.

Eyes of the Image: At 8th level idol priest can perceive anything her image of the idol would bee able to perceive if it were a living creature, this include seeing through it eyes and hearing through it ears. She do not suffer from any ill effect used on the idol, like a gaze attack or a glitterdust spell. She may suppress or resume this ability as a free action.

Life Beyond: If a 9th level idol priest is slain or petrified (or any other permanent method to get rid of her) she may as an immediate action transfer her consciousness in one of her image of the idol. This work as the inhabit idol class feature except the animation doesn't end when the idol priest dies (for obvious reason) and she has full access to all her class abilities while inhabiting the idol. She may use this ability even as the image she is inhabiting is destroyed, transferring herself to another image until none remain (in which case she is boned).

If a resurrection spell is cast on the idol she is inhabiting she immediately return bodily with no level loss or penalty from death even if she didn't actually died (such as her body being petrified) in the first place (her old body immediately crumble to ash however).

Indestructible: At 10th level the idol priest gain damage resistance equal to the number of image of the idol she has, damage resistance reduces all hit point damage that would be done to her before applying other effects such as damage reduction or energy resistance. It works against physical damage as well as energy damage, even force damage.

Additionally she may make one of her image of the idol a major artifact with a 24 hours ritual and 25,000 gp in rare reagent. This image become hard to destroy, requiring it to be struck down by a weapon blessed by the leader of the pantheon while all other images are destroyed. However the idol priest may not inhabit her artifact idol, she is still able to transfer herself to it after death with her life beyond ability but it does not animate andshe cannot take actions while inhabiting it (it does make her resurrection easier however). Obviously she may only have one artifact idol at any given time.
