Human Paladin[edit]

Although few mortal creatures remember the days of old, the gods have long memories. They remember a time where a warrior would devote his entire career to a single weapon, learning to strike harder, faster, and more accurately with that one weapon than any supposed "master" of today. The Gods show favor to their original champions by allowing them some of that ancient power.

Making a Human Paladin[edit]

The Human Paladin functions in the same role a typical paladin does, either as a frontline combatant, backup healer, or (very rarely), ranged artillery.

Abilities: As with a Paladin, Strength, Constitution, Wisdom, and Charisma are important to this class.

Races: Human Only.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Halfling Paladin.

Weapon Focus: At level 1, the Human Paladin gains the weapon focus feat for one weapon he is proficient in.

Flurry: At level 1, the Human Paladin may flurry with any weapon he has the Weapon Focus feat for, gaining an extra attack per round at his highest base attack bonus, but all attacks made that round are at a -2 penalty.

Weapon Specialization: At level 4, the Human Paladin gains the Weapon Specialization feat for any weapon for which he has the weapon focus feat.

Improved Flurry: At level 7, the Human Paladin's flurry penalty is lessened by 1.

Greater Weapon Focus: At level 11, the Human Paladin gains the Greater Weapon Focus feat for any weapon for which he has the weapon focus feat.

Greater Flurry: At level 11, the Human Paladin no longer takes a penalty for flurrying, and he gains an additional attack at his highest BAB.

Master Specialization: At level 11, the Human Paladin may count all of his Paladin levels as Fighter Levels for the sake of gaining Fighter-Only Feats such as Greater Weapon Specialization. If he gains a Fighter Bonus Feat with a pre-requisite of Weapon Focus, then he gains the feat for all weapons for which he has the weapon focus feats. ___

For many years, the only creatures who could become paladins were humans. The reasons for this are unknown, but it was so for much of recorded history. Although this stringent requirement has been removed, the gods still sometimes show a small amount of favoritism towards their human champions.
