Grip of Death
Necromancy [Death]
Level: Sorcerer/Wizard 9
Components: V, S
Casting time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Targets: One creature/2 level
Duration: Concentration
Saving Throw: Fortitude partial
Spell Resistance: Yes

This spell acts as finger of death, except that the caster may select a new creature to target whenever she concentrates, up to the maximum number of targets allowed by the spell. If the caster targets a creature that previously succeeded at its saving throw in the same casting, the target always takes 3d6 points of damage +1 point per caster level (maximum +25) in damage instead of the spell's normal effect.

A creature killed by this spell is immediately raised as zombie under the control of the caster. After 24 hours, the caster may pay the necessary material components to stabilized the spell (as animate dead), or the zombie collapses back into a corpse.
