Emas[edit]

Take it slow. Life can end in an instant, best take your time while your have it.
—Snail Knight Decretals Smithfield, Lessons of the Snail Knight, Chapter 4

A race of snail people, long associated with both the struggles and fortitude of farmers and workers, and for their martial prowess for both their inherent defenses, and a history of performing acts of chivalry for the common man when knights forget their responsibility to the common good.

Description[edit]

Emas are giant snail creatures whose torsos are that of humans, with rubbery and slightly translucent skin and a pair of eyestalks, in addition to the forward facing human eyes they possess (giving them a total of four eyes, though it is difficult to notice). They are believed to be the same brand of creature as other tauric beings, and they are believed to have been initially created through the act of divine meddling. Skin tones tend to come in various yellows, greens, and grays. They sometimes have hair, but can also be prone to baldness. On their back are their shells, which are lightweight but durable as stone and ceramic and come in various colors and patterns. As emas do not actually possess bones, they can fold their entire bodies into their spiral shells with no discomfort.

Emas are omnivores and especially love certain vegetables and fungi. They have strong digestive systems and can eat almost anything.

Emas Psychology[edit]

Emas have traditionally become allies with agricultural societies, having the dedication and patience to farm and grow various produce which they themselves also enjoy. At one point in their history they took the role of commoners, happily working the fields until the day tyranny came to their nation. The knights they looked up to became enforcers of unjust causes, and they joined a great revolution which occurred. Seeking to uphold the previous nobility of the knights they once knew, they took their training and turned it against them, for they already possessed the heavy armor which a knight must have to battle. Thus became a glorious tradition of depicting snails and knights fighting each other to commend their great commoner rebellion.

Territories[edit]

Emas have integrated themselves into rural societies, where they can benefit from the fruits of their labor.

Emas Adventurers[edit]

While many emas find themselves comfortable living their lives, some find a wanderlust they can always engage in, for they always keep their homes on their back.

Emas Names[edit]

Emas have what one would consider traditional humanoid names suitable for the areas they live in.
