Combat[edit]

Dire Squirrels & Dire Flying Squirrels can be quite aggressive when found in packs. They will usually avoid combat when alone or threatened by larger predators. Squirrels mostly eat nuts, buds & plant matter - but they can infact consume meat when hungry. When avoiding combat, Flying Squirrels will use their gliding ability to quickly escape enemies.

Glide (Ex): A flying squirrel can glide from any height at a speed of 20 feet per round in moderate or lower winds, descending at a rate of 10 feet per round.

Skills: Dire squirrels have a +8 racial bonus on Balance, Climb, and Jump checks. A flying squirrel can always choose to take 10 on Climb checks, even if rushed or threatened. A flying squirrel uses its Dexterity modifier instead of its Strength modifier for Climb and Jump checks.
