1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.
Known as a riding crop or a hunting crop, it is a short whip designed typically to use on horses as a training or reprimand method for horses and similar mounts. Like a whip, it deals no damage to any creature with an armor bonus of +1 or higher or a natural armor bonus of +3 or higher. The damage it deals is nonlethal.
If you miss the creature's AC, but hit the touch AC it hits with a loud snap. Creatures hit by the crop (touch AC or greater) take a -1 penalty on attack rolls, saves, and AC for 1 round due to pain. This effect occurs even if they are immune to the weapon damage. The penalty overlaps, it does not stack.
Some fill the end with lead or another metal to make a loaded crop. Such crops cost an additional +2 gp, deal lethal damage, and do not have the restriction on being unable to damage creatures with sufficient armor or natural armor.
