Crimson Inheritor[edit]

I have the blood of the exalted Bahamut and the blood of vile Demogorgon running through my veins, who are you to believe you can defeat that power!
—Draevil, a rather arrogant Human Crimson Inheritor.

A Crimson Inheritor uses magic less like that of a normal spellcaster and more akin to that of how dragons breathe their fearsome breath. Whereas the wizard and cleric rely on other entities and objects for their casting, a crimson inheritor uses power only from within, making him a powerful wielder of arcane magic and one not to be taken lightly.

Becoming a Crimson Inheritor[edit]

The path to become a crimson inheritor is open only to warlocks and spontaneous arcane casters, as such warlocks, sorcerers, beguiler, warmages, dread necromancers and a handful others are the only ones to qualify.

Class Features[edit]

All the following are class features of the Crimson inheritor.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Crimson inheritors gain no extra weapon or armor proficiencies

Spellcasting: At each level, you gain new spells per day and an increase in caster level (and spells known, if applicable) as if you had also gained a level in an arcane spellcasting class you which you belonged before adding the prestige class level. You do not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained. If you had more than one arcane spellcasting class before becoming an crimson inheritor, you must decide to which class to add each level for the purpose of determining spells per day, caster level, and spells known.

Invocations: At each level, you gain new invocations known and an increase in caster level as if you had also gained a level in an invocation-using class to which you belonged before adding the prestige class level. (This includes eldritch blast) You do not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained. If you had more than one invocation-using class before becoming a crimson inheritor, you must decide to which class to add each level for the purpose of determining caster level and invocations known.

Eschew Materials: Crimson inheritors are adept at manipulating the raw energy of magic, and therefore require only the most vital of material components to cast there spells. You gain the Eschew Materials feat even if you do not meet the prerequisites.

Mixed Blood: As a crimson inheritor you learn to combine the magical energies of your two bloodlines until they become the one source of energy that you draw your arcane power from. At third level the crimson inheritor adds his invocating and spontaneous arcane caster levels together to determine his caster level for each class, for example Maelphor is a 3rd level Sorcerer, 2nd level Warlock and a 3rd-level Crimson Inheritor as such his caster level for both classes is 8. In addition your casting stat for your arcane spellcasting class that advances through levels of Crimson Inheritor becomes charisma, if your casting stat for this class was already charisma you gain no other benefit from this class feature.
