Your words echo then go silent to be spoken later. You duplicate the effect of magic mouth, though there is no visual appearance of a moving mouth.
Reverse: You can instead have glowing text appear on a surface. Otherwise, this functions like magic mouth except it is not spoken. The text hangs around for 1 day/level, or less than that at your choosing.
Augmentation: For every +4 you increase the base DC by, you can add an additional contingent recorded message. The effect is capable of determining intent from spoken replies, so exact triggers are not required ("Who's there?" and "Who was that?" both count). Doing this allows you to set up multiple spoken messages and replies in a conversational manner. This works for both normal and reversed forms.
By increasing the base DC by +10, the duration is simply Permanent and can repeat when activated. If using the primal utterance the secondary effect is expended, but you can "refill" the magic mouth effect by casting the utterance upon it again.
Primal Utterance[edit]
Normal: You can employ an utterance of up to 5th level which is cast immediately after using this utterance. The imbued utterance goes off when the magic mouth effect does, and the target of the effect is as you specify or the closest one.
Reversed: As the normal utterance, but activation only occurs when the text is read. This form affects any number of creatures who read it, but only once per creature regardless of the result of any saving throws.
