Chinchi[edit]

Let's transform this place into a home.
—Engel Gardens, Master Artificer of the Spire of the Sun

Once upon a time, a powerful wizard sought to bring life to a barren and hostile land. To achieve this she created many species through science and magic, and her creators of artificer were chosen from small innocuous rodents. They would be known as her Engineers, but others would call them Chinchis due to their resemblance to the fluffy furball.

Description[edit]

Chinchis are large for rodents, but still small creatures compared to humans and similar species. They have rodent-like features but are generally bipedal, with nimble hands, sharp minds, and an in built desire to mold the world around to fit their needs just as much it is for a badger to build dams. Their forms are cloaked in fluffy thick and soft coats of fur, and they have tails which range from short nubs to almost squirrel-like longer limbs.

Chinchi Psychology[edit]

Chinchi are said to be obsessive-compulsive over many things, be it over personal things like cleanliness or over their goals and efforts such as in their crafting, their art, or whatever they happen to be good at. All of them seem compelled to become good at something, and many specialize into their particular skills to the extreme. Because they are specialists they are also highly social to cover their weak points, and so they make an attempt to be charming and friendly to themselves and others. Being small, cute, and fluffy also helps at times.

Chinchi can exist in many environments, but they seem to prefer dry warm places. Perhaps this was the environment they were initially intended to conquer.

Territories[edit]

Chinchi originally were created to conquer a barren and harsh world, but ever since they did their kind multiplied and spread into other worlds. Without guidance from their creator, they began doing their own things and making their own fate and history. Now they can be found building homes in places abandoned by others and terraformed into places suitable for their comfort, especially in desert and wasteland climates.

Chinchi Adventurers[edit]

A chinchi strives to achieve what they are good at, and sometimes what they are good at brings them outside their colonies into the wide open world.

Chinchi Names[edit]

Chinchis originally did not have names, but as their culture naturally began to grow and evolve on its own they began picking up names local to their surroundings. In particular they took inspiration from their fellow tinkerers, the gnomes and the dwarves, and thus can often be found with a strange reflection of both cultures.
