When wielded, the crystals embedded upon this light crossbow begin to light up. When all of the crystals are lit, you can unleash a swarm of arrows.
This +1 light crossbow rapidly reloads itself from a clip of 50 bolts granting the user the effect of Rapid Reload. Beyond this benefit, when the weapon is wielded and ready it begins to charge energy up to the number of attacks granted by BAB + 1 (maximum 5 at BAB +16). Charges are gained at the start of your turn. These charges last until the weapon is dropped or otherwise removed from one's hand.
At any point one can use a standard action to make a full attack + one extra bonus attack at your highest attack modifier (as per haste), up to the number of charges on the weapon. This expends the charges, which begins to charge again. For example, a fighter with BAB +11 can have up to four charges and make four attacks as a standard action (+11/+11/+6/+1). At the start of each of his turns he gains 1 charge, and can wait until he is fully charged or use it prematurely for fewer attacks.
