As far as game mechanics go the dwarf works the same way they do in the players handbook. This section will only list, by sections of the dwarf race in the 5th edition handbook, things that have changed as far as this setting goes.

Dwarf changes for Cala'diel[edit]

  • Short and Stout: No changes.
  • Long Memory, Long Grudges.: Dwarves live to be 90 years old. Their memory is still very good.
  • Clans and Kingdoms: Most of this sections holds true for the Cala'diel setting. Their homeland on the continent of Athlon is called Tharim. Angrol Kazad is the capitol of Tharim, and the largest dwarven city in Athlon. In this setting the only difference in this section is that dwarves have no dislike for boats. Boats are a large part of this setting and dwarves accept this.
  • Gods, Gold, and Clan: No changes. Their god is named Cazgo.
  • Slow to Trust: Dwarves have a shorter lifespan, and so do all races in this setting. But the core of this section remains in this setting.
  • Dawrf Names: No change.
  • Dwarf Traits: No change mechanic wise. Age is changed as stated before. Hill dwarves and Mountain dwarves are both from Tharim. Angrol Kazad would be home to Mountain dwarves. Hill dwarves would be from outer villages in the Tharim region. Duergar are not in this setting.
