Bright Quartz[edit]

A glowing crystal from the underdark, known for being filled with adamantine impurities. Bright quartz typically come in clear or milky white variants, but rare specimens can be of any color. This material behave much like Mundane Crystal except for much increased hit point and hardness.

Any items made from bright quartz also radiate light like a candle. When fashioned into a weapon, bright quartz allows the weapon it is made to bypass DR/Adamantine as well as ignoring hardness less than 18. Armor made from bright quartz grants its wearer damage reduction of 1/– if it’s light armor, 2/– if it’s medium armor, and 3/– if it’s heavy armor.

Bright quartz is so costly that weapons and armor made from it are always of masterwork quality; the masterwork cost is included in the prices given below.

Bright quartz has 30 hit points per inch of thickness and hardness 18.

Type of Bright Quartz Item Item Cost Modifier
Ammunition +60 gp
Light armor/Bucklers +5,000 gp
Medium armor +10,000 gp
Heavy armor +15,000 gp
Shields +2,000 gp
Weapon +3,000 gp
