Low - Moderate - High - Brew Archpotion [Item Creation] Prerequisites: Brew Potion, Knowledge (arcana) 16 ranks, Spellcraft 16 ranks.Benefit: You may infuse multiple spells into a single potion, referred to as an archpotion.
You are still limited to 3rd level spells as the highest level to infuse into an archpotion.
A spellcaster can add 1 component spell per 4 levels to a maximum of 5 component spells at 20 levels.
You may not combine component spells that form oils and components spells that form potions into a single brew. Normal: Brew Potion: Base Price = spell level × caster level × 50 gp.Special: The better the brew, the higher the cost. Extra duration is typically cheaper per round of function compared to having to consume several potions, but many of those rounds may go unused.
- Base Price = Total of all component prices.
- Component Price = Spell level × minimum caster level × 50 gp +720 gp.
- The minimum caster level= The lowest caster level at which the caster is able to cast all component spells.
- DC = The Difficulty Class for a saving throw against an archpotion is 10 + the highest component spell level + the minimum spellcasting key ability modifier necessary to cast all component spells.
- Duration = Increasing the duration a step doubles the component's price (before the 720 gp addition). Decreasing the duration a step halves the price of the component (before the 720 gp addition). All durations for the component spells must be the same.
- Duration Steps: 1 round/level ↔ 1 minute/level ↔ 10 minutes/level ↔ 1 hour/level
- EXP Cost = 1/25 Base Price.
- GP Cost = 1/2 Base Price for materials used in the archpotion's production.
Example: Golognorg (At the minimum caster level of 5)
- Spells Infused:
- Bull’s Strength: 1 minute/level = 5 minutes. Spell level 2 × caster level 5 × 50 gp +720 gp = 1,220 gp.
- Cat’s Grace: 1 minute/level = 5 minutes. Spell level 2 × caster level 5 × 50 gp +720 gp = 1,220 gp.
- Bear’s Endurance: 1 minute/level = 5 minutes. Spell level 2 × caster level 5 × 50 gp +720 gp = 1,220 gp.
- Rage: 1 round/level = 5 rounds. Spell level 3 × caster level 5 × 50 gp ×2 (duration increase) +720 gp = 2,220 gp.
- DC = 14 = 10 + 3 (highest component spell level) + 1 (Modifier of a Key Ability of 13 necessary to cast 3rd level spells)
- Base Price = 5,880 gp = 1,220 gp + 1,220 gp + 1,220 gp + 2,220 gp.
- Duration = 5 Minutes.
- EXP Cost = 1/25(5,880) = 235 EXP.
- GP Cost = 1/2(5,880) = 2,940 gp to make.
- Optional Duration Prices:
- Duration 5 Rounds = 4,380 gp = 970 gp + 970 gp + 970 gp + 1,470 gp.
- Duration 50 Minutes = 8,880 gp = 1,720 gp + 1,720 gp + 1,720 gp + 3,720 gp.
