A dingy old longbow marked with scars of use, it seems to carry more mass to it than it seems.
The bow of guilt is a +1 longbow that automatically adjusts to the strength of its user as a composite longbow. Its true power only reveals itself when evil is performed with it (generally killing an innocent person with the bow). For each act of evil, the weapon gains a charge and deals an additional base weapon die in damage while doubling its weight, to a maximum of five times (+5d8 damage and 96 lbs). Charges are tracked per creature, so a bow heavy with sin may weigh and deal damage unaltered to another. Only atonement (going through the attempt to atone), wish, or miracle can expunge the sin from a creature and reset it back to 0. Evil creatures first obtaining this weapon start out with a base 1 charge and never go lower (2d8, 6 lbs).
It is said the bow belonged to a famous and deadly assassin, but with each kill his heart and his bow grew heavy until he could bear the guilt no more, and abandoned the weapon.
