This baton is sturdy and roughly nine-inches long, made from jade, tapering to the tip, with a ridged golden hand grip.
Also called the barber's baton and the stylist's scepter, this magical implement can alter hairstyles, trimming hair shorter or extending it out longer, twisting it, braiding it, styling and dying it. It can also clean, untangle and repair damaged hair. Any hair trimmed off with the use of a beautician's baton vanishes leaving only trace dust. Any mundane supplies that would be incorporated into the styling must be on hand, such as ribbons, dyes and powders. Some armies employ the use of a beautician's baton to keep their troops trim, clean-shaven and presentable.
The wielder of a beautician's baton may wave it and touch a target as a standard action touch attack, making any appropriate skill check to determine the quality of the styling, such as Craft (Hairdo) or Profession (Barber/Beautician/Stylist). The target may attempt a Fortitude save (DC 11) to resist any alteration to their hair. The beautician's baton grants a +2 circumstance bonus when used in conjunction with a Disguise check on the target. Naturally hairless creatures are immune to the baton's effects.
While some users report a restoration of hair loss (both from scarring and age) with repeated use over time, this has not been confirmed and cannot be advertised as a selling point.
