A beam of light shoots forth and removes everything it touches from existence, even moments into the past.
Any creature or magic item touched by this line that fails its Reflex save, and any amount of mundane material overlapping with this line, is removed from the universe, and all first-order effects of the creatures and objects in the past round are undone. First-order effects are things like damage from a fireball spell, bonuses from a buffing spell, damage from an attack, creatures summoned, and so on. Thus, while this removes creatures that a victim summoned in the past round, the damage dealt by those creatures remains.
Creating Balefire with only these properties costs 8 points of energy. By spending 10 additional points, you can increase the length of the line to Long. You can spend 3 points of energy to increase the number of rounds into the past first-order effects are undone by one round, any number of times. You can double the total amount of energy you spend on Balefire to affect an arc (a 2D cone) instead of a line, but doing so also increases the casting time to a full-round action.
