This +1 greatshield is unusually lightweight, and appears to be made from a still living angel wing. The shield covers up much of the arm, making it appear as if the user's arm was a wing. The feathers are strong as steel, and provides ample protection as well as changing the shield bash into a slashing attack with a 18-20/x2 critical (it still has a -2 to attack as a greatshield). Attacks with an angel wing shield count as good aligned. Evil creatures which use an angel wing shield take 1 temporary negative level as long as they wield it, as if it were a Holy enhanced weapon.
Because of the wing shape, those wielding the angel wing shield can spiral down to the ground in a corkscrew pattern. They are always under the effect of feather fall. As a move action and a DC 5 Dex check they can actively glide, crossing 20 ft for every 5 ft they descend.
If the creature wields two angel wing shields, their AC bonuses do not stack as normal but they do gain a +1 dodge bonus. They are able to take total cover behind both shields as if using a tower shield. In addition, they count as light weapons for the purpose of Two-Weapon Fighting, but only with another angel wing shield. Those with two shields can fly twice their base land speed (average maneuverability), but may only fly up to their Constitution modifier in consecutive rounds (minimum 1) before needing to rest for 5 rounds. They can attempt to fly more rounds than that, must they must make a Fortitude save (DC 10 + 1 each round beyond in that day) or become fatigued. A fatigued user cannot fly. It is common for fliers to fly up, then glide for 5 rounds to rest. Those with a pre-existing fly speed gain a +10 to their fly speed instead.
