Ancestral Heirloom [General]
Prerequisites: 1st level onlyBenefit: Upon taking this feat you gain a masterwork armor or weapon which belonged in your family for generations. Once chosen, the type of equipment chosen cannot be changed. If your ancestral heirloom is a weapon, you gain a +1 bonus on attack rolls made with it. If your ancestral heirloom is an armor, decrease armor check penalty by 1 and increase its max dexterity bonus by 1. If your ancestral heirloom is a shield, increase its shield bonus by +1.
You may increase the power of your ancestral heirloom, as if you had the Craft Magic Arms and Armor. You do not need to meet the caster level prerequisite when crafting your relic, and if you add special abilities to your relic, you do not need to meet the spell prerequisite either. You may modify the ancestral heirloom by adding a special material, item template or other modification to it at half cost. The ancestral heirloom must follow the normal rule of a piece of equipment of its kind, such as having only one special material and item template.
If your ancestral heirloom is destroyed, or lost, you may spend 200 GP per character level to restore it in a ritual spanning 24 hours. In the hand of another creature, your ancestral heirloom is a normal masterwork weapon of its kind, keeping its special material, hit point and hardness.
