Uncovered among the petrified ruins of an ancient fey city in a desolate wasteland, the original amberstones were examined, catalogued and removed from the site for the purposes of scrutinizing magical examination. These magical gems had once been commonplace among the people, but the ingredients and methods of making them had been lost. Through careful archeological research and magical tinkering, the amberstone's secrets have once again been unlocked from the past and made available to the discerning consumer.
An amberstone appears to be a refined variant of the bloodstone. They come in (and incidentally can be made in) two varieties.
An amberstone holds 7 charges per day. As a standard action, a held stone can be used to restore 2d4 hit points of damage either to the holder or another creature with a touch.
Limpid Amberstone: A limpid amberstone is clear of cracks, flaws and inclusions. 2 charges may be expended from this variety of amberstone to grant the benefits of owl's wisdom instead for 1 minute on the target.
Inclusion Amberstone: An inclusion amberstone may have small bubbles, cracks or other imperfections, but the real draw is the tiny insectile creature eternally preserved within. 2 charges may be expended from this variety of amberstone to grant the benefits of neutralize poison instead for 1 round on the target. Upon successfully neutralizing poison, the stone is then rendered inert for 1 day.
Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, cure light wounds, 200 gp of the appropriate lesser worldtree amber; either owl's wisdom or neutralize poison.
Cost to Create: 675 gp, 54 EXP, 2 days.
