Aged Drakescales[edit]
Made from choices scales of dragons, wyverns and drakes, aged drakescales is the Mithral equivalent of dragonhide. It is favored by mitahnese warrior and was initially used in the creation of protective cloaks and later a choice material for armor. The uses of aged drakescales eventually spread outside of Mitah, although mithral's superior hardness usually make it the favored material for armor.
The creation of aged drakescales requires alchemically treated dragonhide being left to 'dry' for years or decades. As a result it loses almost or all of it color, being an aged brown, grey or faded color of the original scales. However the scales become extremely light while losing no hardness, making them perfect for armor.
An aged drakescales armor functions in all respect as mithral except that it is not metal, as a result it can be used by druid without penalty and has lesser harness. Like dragonhide, aged drakescales is not suitable to make weapons. Another advantage of aged drakescales is that it is well-thermally insulated, cloaks and clothes made of aged drakescales counts as appropriated protection in cold or hot weather (as per as a cold weather outfit).
Aged drakescales has 10 hit points per inch of thickness and hardness 10.
