Majutsu Mystic

The practitioners of majutsu draw upon a long tradition of ancient magic. Their ancestral school of magic dabbled in animalism, exorcism and necromancy. While good-aligned majutsu mystics hunted evil spirits and delivered succor to their victims, evil majutsu mystics practiced the forbidden art of necromancy. Often known as majutsu exorcist and majutsu diabolist, the former tends to consort with kami and good-aligned spirits, while the latter often seek the aid of fiends and other evil-aligned spirits. Some majutsu mystics simply see themselves as arbiters and protectors of nature, these mystics tend to be neutral but can be of any alignment.

Class: Occultist

Level: 1st, 2nd

Replaces: Medium Armor Proficiency, 1st level Focus Power , 2nd level Implement School

Benefit: A majutsu mystic gain the following class features:

Spellcasting (Ex): A majutsu mystic is an arcane spellcaster instead of a psychic spellcaster, her spellcasting is otherwise unchanged. A majutsu mystic can cast spells while wearing light armor without incurring arcane spell failure.

This ability alters spellcasting and replaces the occultist's proficiency with medium armor

Cantrips: Each time he selects an implement school, a majutsu mystic gains one cantrip, or 0-level arcane spell (including when he selects a school that he has already learned to use). These cantrips otherwise behave as an occultist’s knacks.

This ability replaces knacks.

Hand Seals (Ex): As long as a majutsu mystic has both hands free, she may cast spells which normally have somatic and verbal components with only somatic components. This does not alter any other component of the spell, such as material components or focuses. A psychic majutsu sorcerer may use this ability to replace her emotions and/or thoughts components with somatic components.

Ofuda (Su): This ability functions as the Kami Medium's Ofuda ability except that it affects the occultist's spellcasting rather than medium spellcasting. Unlike a kami medium, the majutsu mystic may cast her spells normally without using an ofuda if she wishes so. Instead of counting as a holy symbol, an ofuda can be used to replace any material components or focus which cost 10 GP or less.

This ability replaces the focus power gained at 1st level.

Majutsu Training: A 2nd level majutsu mystic is able to draw upon the spells taught by ancient majutsu practitioners. She chooses a single spell of each level she can cast from the following list and adds these spells to her known spell. When she gains the ability to cast higher level spells she may select a spell from this list to add to her spell known of the correct spell level.

0th- detect fiendish presence, disrupt undead
1st– bless water, detect evil, detect undead, hide from undead, sentry skull, shield of faith, speak with animals
2nd– command undead, sealing force, speak with dead
3rd– halt undead, speak with plants, wall of ofuda
4th– atavism, summon kami
5th– create undead, dispel evil, ethereal jaunt
6th– arboreal imprisonment, awakened seal, banishment, create greater undead

She may also choose from these spells when picking spells gained through implement schools, but they must match the chosen implement school as normal. At 8th when the majutsu mystic cast a spell from the list above, increase the spell's DC by +1. At 16th level this bonus increases to +2.

This ability replaces the implement school gained at 2nd level.
