Black Box

A black box is used to raise constructs from a backup.

A black box is a 6" cube of magically treated adamantine from the plane of Mechanus. When grafted to a construct, the box catalogs and maps the design and function of the subject, sending this information back for storage on Mechanus. A newly grafted black box takes 24 hours to synchronize to a subject, at which time, it actively keeps the subject's backup information current. Protection against divinations on the subject may prevent a black box from functioning properly.

A construct with a grafted black box may be raised from the dead by spells as though it had a soul.

A black box weighs 60 pounds, has 264 hit points and hardness 22. A black box gets a saving throw when subjected to effects that affect objects, using its hardness as the modifier to its roll.

A black box.
