Sword Channeler

You have learned how to channel your sorcerous abilities through a sword you have bound to your will. You can wield your blade at a distance and channel your spells through it. However such martial study comes at the cost of your bloodline, gaining less knowledge from it as normal and losing some of its inherent abilities.

This archetype is recommended to be mixed with the Battle Sorcerer if allowed.

Class: Sorcerer

Level: 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th, 13th, 15th, 17th, 19th

Replaces: 1st bloodline powers, bloodline spells

Benefit: A sword channeler gain the following class features:

Sword Bond: A sword channeler gain the arcane bond class feature as a sorcerer of the arcane bloodline. She must select a light or one-handed martial weapon from the light blade or heavy blade weapon group. She gain proficiency with the chosen weapon, if she was already proficient with it she gain Weapon Focus with it instead.

This ability replaces the bloodline power gained at 1st level.

Sword of the Sorcerer (Su): A sword channeler gains the ability to control her sword telekinetically. As a standard action, she can make a single attack using her bonded object out of close range. This attack is treated as a ranged attack with a thrown weapon, except that you add your Charisma modifier on the attack roll instead of your Dexterity modifier and Strength for the damage roll. This ability cannot be used to perform a combat maneuver. After the attack, your bonded sword returns unerringly to your hand.

You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + half her sorcerer level + her Charisma modifier.

At 2nd level, when the sword channeler cast a spell with a range of touch. She may deliver the spell through her sword of the sorcerer ability. She must expend a use of the ability as normal. Instead of the touch attack, she makes a ranged attack. If the attack hits, the spell is delivered in addition to the ranged attack. If the attack misses or the spell has multiple touches, the hand holding the sword is considered to be holding the charge and she may deliver the touch through future sword attacks on subsequent rounds.

This ability replaces the bloodline spells normally gained through her bloodline. She may still select her bloodline spells as spells known once she reaches the listed level.

Blade Magic (Ex): Whenever a sword channeler cast a spell which involve an attack with her bonded sword, be it channeled from her sword of the sorcerer ability or as part of the spell, she gain a +1 insight bonus on the spell’s caster level and on the attack roll.

At 5th level a sword channeler adds storm of blades as a 2nd level sorcerer spell known, except that it uses her bonded sword as a focus rather than a material component. At 13th level she adds blade barrier to her sorcerer spell list and as a 6th level spell known. These spells are in addition to the normal spell known at these levels

Sword Dance (Su): At 9th level, the sword channeler may use sword of the sorcerer ability as a full-round action, making a full-attack instead of a single attack with it. While she does so she gains an additional attack at her highest attack bonus, this extra attack does not stack with the extra attack granted by haste. This only costs a single use of the ability.

This ability replaces the bloodline power gained at 9th level.
