Before you floats a perfectly polished silver diamond shape, mathmatically precise in its every angle. Its surface is ever-slightly translucent, and beneath you sense a multitude of gears whirring away in impossible geometeries.

The precise orderblight only comes in one form, one shape, one size, that of a 4 ft. by 4 ft. floating diamond seemingly made of some translucent silver metal polished to the Nth degree. Inside gears upon gears whir and hum in harmony, but it is best not to stare too deeply, for one will notice fractal gears upon the gears, and gears upon those gears, and gears within gears within gears, to the point of driving all but inevitables mad. While they appear constructed, they are outsiders. They always weigh 256 lbs., but float in the air as if they weighed nothing.

It is believed orderblights exist to bring order to the universe by forcing everything into a rigid, unmoving shape via crystalization. It is also its method of reproduction, as those who have been turned into crystal eventually take on the shape of an orderblight, becoming active and flying off to bring order elsewhere.

Orderblights do not speak.

Combat[edit]

The orderblight attacks by projecting perfectly shaped spikes which manifest from its metal surface, which remains unbroken and shows no sign of stress. Some believe the orderblight to be a mathmatical construct and its surface merely a solid holographic shell, an expression of law. It can product up to 2 spikes a round from any direction, possessing no front or back, though it may still be flanked.

A orderblight’s spike attacks, as well as any weapons it wields, are treated as lawful-aligned for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction. An orderblight is capable of releasing two servo limbs instead of spikes for the purpose of manipulating items, though it rarely does so.

Orderblights and chaos beasts are mortal enemies. They will attack each other on sight.

Crystalization (Su): An attack from an orderblight against a living creature can cause a terrible transformation. The creature must succeed on a DC 15 Fortitude save or have their flesh harden into a crystalized mass. Unless the victim manages to control the effect (see below), its slowed and they cannot speak or perform somatic components, although they are not helpless. The save DC is Constitution-based.

An affected creature is unable to let go of or use any item. Clothing, armor, rings, and helmets become trapped under crystal. Speed is reduced to 5 feet and searing pain courses along the nerves, so strong that the victim cannot act coherently. The victim cannot cast spells or use magic items, and it attacks blindly, unable to distinguish friend from foe (–4 penalty on attack rolls and a 50% miss chance, regardless of the attack roll). Chaotic-aligned creatures are particularly effected, and take 1d6 points of magic damage each round. Chaotic subtyped creatures take 2d6 points of damage.

Each round the victim spends in an crystalized state causes 1 point of Dexterity drain from from corruption. If the victim’s Dexterity score falls to 0, it becomes an orderblight.

A victim can regain its own shape by taking a standard action to attempt a DC 15 Charisma check (this check DC does not vary for a orderblight with different Hit Dice or ability scores). A success reestablishes the creature’s normal form for 1 minute. On a failure, the victim can still repeat this check each round until successful.

Crystallization is not a disease or a curse and so is hard to remove. A shapechange or stoneskin spell does not cure an afflicted creature but fixes its form for the duration of the spell. A restoration, heal, or greater restoration spell removes the affliction (a separate restoration is necessary to restore any drained points of Dexterity).

Hover (Su): Orderblights naturally float by unknown means. They have a hover speed of 30 ft. (perfect) which allows them to fly up to their reach (5 ft.) away from a solid or liquid surface. They never need to make move silently checks and do not produce noise if they choose not to.

Immunity to Transformation (Ex): No mortal magic can permanently alter a orderblight's perfect form. Effects such as polymorphing or petrification force the creature into a new shape, but at the start of its next turn it immediately returns to its original shape as a free action.

Steady Attack (Ex): Orderblights remain cool and collected in the heat of battle. They may take 10 on their attack roll, and default to this unless it knows it cannot hit the opponent without rolling over a 10 result.
