Fear-Monger

Add a bit of fear to that dagger strike!

Class: Any class with Sneak/Sudden Attack progression

Prerequisites: Intimidate 4 ranks or Skill Focus (Intimidate)

Level: 1st

Replaces: Sneak Attack or Sudden Attack

Benefit: Instead of gaining Sneak/Sudden Attack, you gain the feature Scare Attack:

  • Scare Attack: You deal +1d6 damage but only against scared (shaken, frightened or panicked or similar conditions) or flat-footed enemies (so, enemies that have their Dexterity bonus to AC negated. In this case it stacks with Sneak Attack and Sudden Attack).
If you successfully hit a flat-footed enemy using the Scare Attack feature, you may make a free Intimidate check against that opponent to demoralize it until the end of your next round. The damage dealt increases by +1d6 at each odd level.
