Hedge Knight

A hedge knight is a wandering cavalier, without a mount. Usually they hail from impoverished noble families without land, and thus were not able to afford a mount. Not all hedge knights are poor nobles, some are would-be-knights without a mount who seek the title. Others are outcasts, sent away by their kin and left without much resources. Others may willingly eschew those things, seeking glory for glory's sake, without aid. In any case a hedge knight does not have a steed, but wandering the land in heavy armor has made them endurant and able to tolerate the heaviest of armor. Almost all hedge knights are without masters, as the name suggests. However, many of them follow the principles of chivalry. Those who survive in such harsh conditions are deeply resolved, even beyond their peers.
