Like this version much better, now used more for sneaking than to shut down people in combat.

Only thing that feels weird is that it makes darkness into dim light, effectively fulfilling Light's purpose as well. I'd take that off.

Perhaps this should be made a Concentration spell? Seems a bit too good for a cantrip to have all these effects... --Ghostwheel (talk) 15:23, 14 June 2019 (MDT)

Thanks for the feedback. I will consider it. It actually less powerful than the light cantrip. The light spell changes any level of light (bright, dim, or darkness) within a 20' radius to bright light and darkness to dim light in an additional 20'. The shadow only lowers the light by one level (i.e. bright to dim, dim to dark, dark to magical dark) in the same overall radius. And I wanted to be sure it was less powerful than the 2nd level darkness spell
I did make one change: removed it being applied after magical lighting to having both magical light and magical darkness cancel each-other in the overlapping area. --Rlyehable (talk) 21:23, 24 June 2019 (MDT)
