Talk:Scaling Item Qualities (3.5e Variant Rule)

The problem I've always had with scaling enhancement is that damage rockets sky high if you allow for the stacking of multiple enhancements such as flaming or shocking. I see that you spotted that as well. Good. I would personally limit it to only one type of damage on most occasions, which makes sense flavour-wise. Also, The non-scaling DCs of weapon abilities have always been a pain-in-the-ass and made them all worthless. Glad we thought alike on this one as well.

Personally, I might prefer them scaling a bit slower, like +1d6 for every two points of enhancement bonus of the weapon, rounded up, which still amounts to a nice boost per enhancement. Maybe. I might allow a single instead of stacking in such a case, not excluding the one already added... I guess that burst-type enhancements scale in a similar fashion? -HarrowedMind (talk) 16:55, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

I also basically do the same thing with the second half of balance wealth. --Ghostwheel (talk) 18:51, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
