Stealth Ice Spikes
Dire Winter (Strike) [Cold]
Level: 4
Prerequisite: Two Dire Winter maneuvers
Initiation Action: Standard
Range: 60-ft
Area: One 10-ft. cubes per level (S)
Duration: 1 round/level
Saving Throw: Reflex partial

When you initiate this maneuver you cause water vapor to freeze into ice spikes, which are nearly invisible thanks to light refraction. This effectively cover the entire area in spike growth except there is no need for plants. Since the spikes are effectively invisible, a creature cannot determine if a square is infested with ice spikes without making a DC 25 Spot check as she is entering the square.

If an affected square is dealt 10 or more fire damage, it is immediately cleared of all ice spikes. After this maneuver's duration elapses all ice spikes immediately melt.

The duration of this maneuver is instantaneous if used in cold weather or cold environments.
