Shield ClipEdit
This series of clips and ties costing an extra 15g allows a shield to be connected to your armor at the pauldron (the shoulder plate), allowing you relatively free range of movement with your off hand while still gaining the protection of the shield. If you make attacks with a second weapon in your off hand, you incur a penalty equal to double the shield's armor check penalty on your attack rolls. If you make attacks with a two-handed weapon using your off hand, you incur a penalty equal to the shield's armor check penalty on your attack rolls.
You may not use shield bash or other special attacks with your shield while it is clipped to your armor in this fashion, but otherwise the shield grants its full armor bonus. Light, heavy, and even tower shields can all be used with the shield clip.
