When wearing this ring, all your words are also displayed as text in the form of illusory letters. The text can be in a language you are not speaking, and indeed its most common use is for the purpose of translation. Each ring is set to write out a specific language keyed upon creation.
A variant of the ring is the reverse ring of subtitles. Instead of translating your words, a language of your choice spoken to you is translated into text you can read. For example, a ring keyed to gnoll language can have anyone speaking gnoll to you appear as common text to your eyes.
You can have both functions added to the same ring for the total of 2000 gp.
Prerequisites: Forge Ring, tongues, able to speak language used for the ring.
