The door opener is a small brick covered in runes and a single stylized eye surrounded by hands. It automatically adheres to the top of any door, gateway, or window up to 20 ft x 20 ft. Whenever a sentient creature comes close to the entry (within 5 ft) the door opens automatically and then closes once the creature is out of range, so long as said door is unlocked. Stores often use it to keep doors closed to prevent hot or cool air from escaping.
Greater door openers are more advanced. They can open simple locked doors (such as those that are barred or turn-locks, but not locks which require keys or magical locks). They can also be set to only open for certain visual or audio cues, such as a password or a badge that a normal human guard could see. Subsequently it can also be tricked by disguises and falsehoods, with its caster level (+3) to its Sense Motive.
Attaching or removing a door opener is a standard action, and produces a loud clacking noise as a anti-theft method (both those who would steal the door opener and those who would use the greater version as a skeleton key).
