Disintegri[edit]

You died, disintegrated, reduced naught to ash and dust. And yet, you persist.

Disintegri are the bodies of those who have been disintegrated. The process initiated conversion into undeath, yet your tie to your body was too strong. Your form became mobile once again, a pseudo-elemental of grit and air, puppeting the remains of your body in a disturbing scene trying to bring yourself back together.

Personality[edit]

Disintegri are a rare breed of undead that come from other species, and their personalities are more based on what they were then what they are now. However, not having a body does tend to make those converted into disintegri more distant, more abstract, and more morose.

Physical Description[edit]

Disintegri are spirits which puppet around the ash when makes up their former bodies, as well as some general local debris that get caught up in the maelstrom. None have great detail to their forms, but their "bodies" do take on the vague shape and outline of their former selves. It goes without saying, but these sort of creatures lack any biology of their own.

Relations[edit]

As undead, most would consider these beings abominations. Any relations they possess would be with former allies, and beyond they may be able to decieve others of them being some manner of thinly spread dust paraelemental.

Alignment[edit]

The trauma of disintegrated often, but not always, causes a shift in one's mindset closer towards evil. Disintegri are often disconnected from the feelings of others.

Lands[edit]

Disintegri are unnatural beings and have no land of their own.

Religion[edit]

Disintegri are unnatural beings and have no religion other than that of their initial beings.

Language[edit]

Disintegri lose much in the process of dying. Most speak Common and one language of choice, based on who they were previously.

Names[edit]

Disintegri who remember who they are keep their names from their former lives.

Racial Traits[edit]

  • - Constitution: As undead, disintegri lack a consitition or biology. They lose their former traits, lacking a body and struggling to maintain their mind through undeath.
  • Undead: More poltergiest than anything, a disintegri can only come about through the death of its previous form.
  • Medium: As a Medium creature, a disintegri has no special bonuses or penalties due to its size.
  • Disintegri base land speed is 30 feet. Most disintegri are medium, though sometimes Small disintegri (with move speeds of 20 ft) can exist.
  • Darkvision: A disintegri can see in the dark up to 60 feet. Darkvision is black and white only, but it is otherwise like normal sight, and a disintegri can function just fine with no light at all.
  • Amorphous (Ex): Disintegri lack vital organs and are immune to critical hits and sneak attacks (as well as being undead). Their swarm-like nature allows them to pass through small cracks and spaces that would permit fluids to pass through. They retain their ability to use and wear items, hovering vaguely in the locations they should be, but if passing through a small space they must discard any suspended items (a non-action) in order to slip through spaces too large for their items. Unlike elementals, while disintegri are amorphous they have spectral "eyes" and thus can be flanked normally.
  • Disintegrating Touch (Su): At will as a standard action, the disintegri can make a touch attack that acts like disintegrate, dealing 1d6 damage. This damage ignores hardness on non-magical objects.
  • Half-Ethereal (Ex): Disintegri can affect (and be affected) by creatures on the ethereal plane, and can see creatures on the ethereal plane within 10 ft of themselves. This counts for any weapons or items they carry or possess.
  • Hazy Presence (Ex): Disintegri are not entirely stable, and fall apart easily. They count as two sizes smaller for the purposes of handling wind effects. They take a -2 penalty on saves against [Air] effects and [Sonic] effects. Effects which would daze or stun or forcefully move them (such as bull rush) instead causes them to fall apart, effectively prone mechanically. Subsequently they are not immune to dazing or stunning, ignoring their immunities due to their Undead type. Their hazy presence also means that while they take on the appearance of their vague former body, they lack any great details to their form.
  • Never Again (Ex): Disintegri are immune to any disintegrating abilities (including the spell disintegrate as they can disintegrate no further.
  • Automatic Languages: Common and One Other of Choice (based on previous existance)
