With a grumbling whine, the rune on the cave wall burst into a fizzle of green sparks. The whole trip was turning out to be much more disheartening than expected.
You trace mystic runes upon a surface bearing other written information. The runes cover an area the size of a standard gold coin and count as a magical trap. The disappointing runes plip and vanish with a fizzle when read, dealing 1 daunt level to adjacent creatures, Will negates.
You can remove the disappointing runes when desired. Another creature can remove them with a successful dispel magic or erase spell, but attempting to dispel or erase the disappointing runes and failing to do so triggers the effect.
The effects of multiple disappointing runes do not stack.
