Deep-Ore Alloy[edit]

This dark-colored material is prized among underdark races such as drows and duegars. At a glance, deep-ore ally has similar properties to cold iron and mithral, as it is both light and difficult to enhance. Depending on how it is forged and the material's impurity, deep ore alloy's color can be either pitch black, light silvery purple color, or anywhere in-between. The main disadvantage, or perhaps advantage, of deep-ore alloy that it is prone to disintegrating in sunlight.

A weapon made of deep-ore alloy counts as being made of Cold Iron while armors count as being made of Mithral. Both are lightweight, only weighing half of their alloy counterparts. Additionally both have the additional 2,000 gp enhancement cost associated with Cold Iron.

If exposed to sunlight, a non-magical deep-ore alloy item immediately disintegrates. This does not happen to a magical deep-ore alloy items, even if it broken or places in an antimagic field.

Weapons or armors fashioned from deep-ore alloy are always masterwork items as well; the masterwork cost is included in the prices given below.

Deep-Ore Alloy has 30 hit points per inch of thickness and hardness 15.

Ammunition +14 gp
Light armor +700 gp
Medium armor +3,000 gp
Heavy armor +7,000 gp
