Butt Stroke [Fighter]
Prerequisites: Two Weapon Fighting, Weapon Focus with a spear or polearm, proficiency in quarterstaffBenefit: As a free action, you may change your grip on your weapon, and use it as if it were a double weapon, with the damage for the main head remaining the same,
and the butt-end of the haft doing damage as one end of a quarterstaff (1d6 dam, bludgeoning, 20/*2).
All feats or abilities that applied to that weapon (Weapon Specialization, Ranger Combat Style) still apply. It is still the same weapon, you just are using it in a different way.
When you do this, the weapon no longer has reach, and you may not set the weapon to do double damage against a charging opponent.
If you do this more than once per round, the second use takes a move action, not a free action.
At the player's option, weapons like spears, would do slashing damage instead of piercing. Use your head.
