This white soapstone is about the size of a dagger, and marks surfaces easily.  It acts as the focus, and duplicates the effects of, ''[[Astral Assistance (3.5e Spell)|astral assistance]]'' as a 1 round action instead of the usual casting time.  You can use it at will and the duration is unlimited, though you may only have one sign down at a time.

There are energized gold soapstones which are granted by certain deities of the sun, which function the same but the sign is a shining golden hue.  There is also an energized red soapstone which duplicates the alternative effect of ''astral assistance''.
