This kit is an assembly of metal parts that allows you to transform any portable cannon into a powerful mortar cannon. The kit consists of a 3-foot telescopic metal tube serving as an extension of the cannon, a metal frame with three spring-loaded feet (to be placed on the ground), two leather straps allowing it to be carried on the back, and two cuffs installed on a spar of spring bolts (used to compensate for the recoil effect of the weapon). There is also a screwdriver for adjustments, an adjustable wrench to install it, a pair of protective goggles, and a box of ear plugs.

It takes 2 minutes to install or remove the kit on a portable cannon. A [[Disable Device]] check with a DC of 20. In case of failure, it takes 1 minute longer and you have to re-roll the skill check. For each failed roll, it takes 1 more minute and you have to redo the skill check until you give up or get a minimum result of 20.

Once the kit is installed, weapon deal damage as one size larger. The weapon's range increment is doubled when used in direct fire (hand-held as a portable cannon). It is possible to perform a lobbed shot. In this case, the weapon's range increment is tripled and the critical modifier is increased by 1, but its user suffers a -4 attack penalty (in addition to any range penalties) due to the difficulty in aiming precisely. When the weapon is used with this kit, its user suffers a penalty of -4 due to recoil. This penalty is reduced by its strength modifier, whether positive or negative.
